Rambling words: a moan

How empty like my life has become
vanished fantasies flooded
empty home
retired for the most part
pillar to post
walking the dog to bitter tears
worrying
for whatever reason
worrying

Jason's gone
the last explorer
took the express over the edge of the world
only I remain
inside the doorless windowless
waiting for the goose
to let me out of the bottle

The neighbours look in
you alright dear
never fear
the state's got your back
wonder where they'll store the ashes

The evening light
luminous horizon
steel blue
involuting
falling back into my rambling fretted mind
William and Mary
William and Kate
tomorrow if it comes the royal wedding
more trivia bric-a-brac tchotchkes

Why would the chicken
crossing the road
evoke any interest
chicken soup might
wings and ribs
cruelty in the banality
the banality of ramblings

It's darker now over Casa Loma
I'll let you go now
the fact that there is no tomorrow
has certainly queered my day
