"I was counting my days"

celebrating Darcy

Andrew Sookrah and I have been chronicling, pictorially, Darcy's story from the time she received a diagnosis of breast cancer, through her mastectomy and chemo. The paintings pack an emotional charge, though what we observed were Darcy's courage, spirit, optimism, and love of life.
This is an important show "normalizing" this all to frequent drama.

Darcy says, for her, the show is about options, choices. Everyone expected her to wear a wig during chemo. A young woman, who Darcy is mentoring, said Darcy was the first person to suggest to her that "reconstruction" is an option, not a requirement...

Darcy, herself, is curating the show. So, it will be personal. It will be warm yet touching. It will be wonderful - not to be missed. Come and meet Darcy (and the artists) on day 1956 of her counting my days.
